Lancôme always tries to offer a touch of luxury for those who prefer a more “indulgent” skincare ritual. And this cream? I feel like it’s got a seriously rich texture that helps support a visibly improved eye area, especially for those with dry-feeling skin. 

No wonder then that this cream is commonly celebrated as a classic skincare choice for those who value established brands and love the allure of luxury in their skincare routine. 

This cream is formulated to specifically target visible skin concerns like the look of wrinkles and fine lines, and that puffy-feeling skin. It’s enriched with popular ingredients like grand rose extracts, linseed extract, shea butter, and pro-xylane. Studies show pro-xylane can visibly support and enhance the skin’s building blocks for firmer-looking skin. So I'm a fan of that. However, the other ingredients listed do not have a ton of data behind them to support their use in skincare. However, they do have clinically backed results visible on the manufacturer's website that show this cream has the potential to improve the appearance of under-eye wrinkles. As a board-certified dermatologist, I’m always a fan of clinically verifiable results! 

Unfortunately – it’s a very, very pricey eye cream (upwards of $150+!) and most of my patients typically won’t be able to consistently afford it. For those who do, though, it's definitely in the running for top eye creams out there. 

For excellent, visible results at a fraction of the price, I would steer you towards my #1 choice… but if you really feel like “splurging,” giving this one a try could be a good move.

Now let’s talk about the Vino Perfect Eye Cream by Caudalie. 

This is another standout eye cream that is formulated without artificial fragrance. It also includes niacinamide and viniferine.

Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3, is well-known in skincare for its potential to visibly  improve skin tone and support a plumper skin texture. ⁷ Studies show it also has the ability to help combat the appearance of skin blemishes and splotchy-looking skin, making it an ultra-valuable ingredient in eye creams. ⁸ Viniferine, an antioxidant extracted from grapevine sap, is recognized for its visible brightening properties, which can aid in reducing the appearance of dark spots and contribute to a more even-looking skin complexion. ⁹

Together in Caudalie Vino Perfect Eye Cream, these ingredients blend to target visible dark circles and improve overall skin radiance around the eyes, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a bright and smooth look.

Despite all this, I feel there are better options out there for those who are more concerned with targeting visible wrinkles around the eyes  (while spending less too I might add!)

But it’s still a strong contender on this list. 

Alternately, you may want to embrace the allure of Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Eye Gel-Cream.

This lightweight formula is popular with many of my more mature patients, some having used it since their 20s and having loved the results. While its fragrance may not be for everyone (it may have contributed to irritation in some of my patients, especially those with sensitive skin), this formulation is aimed at those who seek the prestige of a trusted, mega-popular brand.

The formula contains both peptides and hyaluronic acid, which we discussed the benefits of earlier. Furthermore, the inclusion of pea peptides has been shown to offer a feeling of calm to the cream's formulation, offering multiple visible benefits to the eye area. ¹⁰

Some of my patients swear by this cream, but a number of my patients with sensitive skin find this cream feels super harsh on their skin — so I’d strongly advise that you patch test it first, especially if your skin skews on the more sensitive side.
